Sknups Secures $3.5 Million in Funding and Partners with Dolce&Gabbana

Sknups, a digital collectibles platform based in the UK, recently secured $3.5 million in pre-seed funding from renowned fashion and web3 innovators, including Redrice Ventures, Blue Wire Capital, and Adelpha. The platform has also forged a global partnership with the prestigious fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana, aiming to bring their iconic Italian style into the world of gaming. To celebrate this collaboration, Sknups has launched a new digital drop on their website.

Established in 2020, Sknups aims to empower gamers, cryptocurrency enthusiasts, and fashion lovers to enhance their presence in both web2 and web3 digital realms. Since its stealth open-beta launch in December 2021, the platform has already caught the attention of prominent global fashion brands and emerging streetwear designers, including Benny Andallo and James Mack. Furthermore, Sknups is poised to announce additional collaborations with leading brands and cultural icons, according to a recent press release.

What sets Sknups apart is its unique hybrid web2/web3 ownership platform, which combines digital fabrication with extensive reach in the metaverse. Utilizing their metaverse atelier, the Sknups team creates digital collectibles featuring couture 3D models. The platform is designed to cater to billions of users and offers a variety of features, including airdrop tools that enable democratic drop access to the entire fan community, Solana NFTs for collectors, social flexing tools, fan composability, and integrations with both web2 and web3 games.

Fred Speirs, co-founder and CEO of Sknups, expressed the company’s mission of enhancing online self-expression by providing unique skins and collectibles for people’s favorite digital games and worlds. He emphasized their passion for high-level design, craftsmanship, imagination, and innovation. Sknups aims to offer fashion creatives a scalable platform in the metaverse, allowing brands and creators to establish a presence in digital realms while balancing exclusivity with accessibility. Fred Speirs believes that fashion in the Metaverse should transcend a limited group of celebrities and high net worth individuals, spreading the transformative power of style and craftsmanship to the next generation of fans.
