Ferrari’s Strategy: Electrification and Introduction of New Models

In a recent investor presentation, luxury automotive brand Ferrari revealed its medium-term strategy centered around the electrification of its vehicle lineup and the introduction of fifteen new models. By 2030, an estimated 80% of Ferrari’s offerings will be comprised of electric and hybrid vehicles.

The recent decision by the European Parliament to ban the sale of new gasoline or diesel cars starting from 2035 has prompted the automotive industry to reassess its development plans. Following in the footsteps of other notable industry players, such as Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin, Ferrari is now outlining its electric roadmap for the next four years.

By 2026, Ferrari plans to have a product range consisting of 60% hybrid and electric vehicles, with the remaining 40% powered by combustion engines. However, Ferrari intends to adjust these proportions by the end of the decade, with a distribution of 40% electric vehicles, 40% hybrid vehicles, and 20% conventional engines. As part of this ambitious agenda, Ferrari has announced that its first fully electric vehicle will be launched in 2025.

Although electric vehicles are and will continue to be key drivers of growth within the sector, Ferrari aims to combine the electric process with hybrid technology to significantly reduce its average carbon monoxide emissions per car by at least 50% by 2030. Ferrari’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna, reiterated the company’s commitment to leveraging its competitive advantages in terms of uniqueness and technological leadership, while simultaneously working towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.

With a goal of attaining a net income of €6.7 billion in 2026, compared to €4.3 billion in 2021, Ferrari’s strategy aligns with the global shift towards sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility. By embracing electrification and actively reducing emissions, Ferrari is positioning itself as a frontrunner in the luxury electric vehicle market. The brand’s dedication to carbon neutrality serves as a testament to its commitment to innovation and the preservation of the environment. With its ambitious plans and iconic brand identity, Ferrari is poised to shape the future of luxury electric vehicles.
