Balmain, the esteemed fashion house, has partnered with artist Jeff Cole to produce a collection of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) inspired by their highly sought-after Unicorn sneakers. In collaboration with the MINT NFT platform, Balmain and MINT NFT will be launching a limited-edition NFT auction on Tuesday, June 21st at 6 PM.
These unique NFTs were crafted using the XRP Ledger blockchain and revolve around Balmain’s latest iconic sneaker model, the Unicorn. Digital artist Jeff Cole has created an animated NFT and three illustrated NFTs, all of which draw inspiration from the futuristic geometric design elements found in the sneaker. The aim is to capture the essence of a unicorn within the sneaker’s silhouette.
Jeff Cole’s fascination with Balmain’s Unicorn sneakers began long before the collaboration opportunity arose. He had saved the initial images of the sneakers on his computer, captivated by their unparalleled and otherworldly appearance, as if they had been crafted on a distant planet and then dropped onto Earth.
The starting bid for each NFT in the auction is $5,000. In addition to owning these exclusive digital creations, the NFT owners will also receive a special pair of sneakers autographed by the creative director Olivier Rousteing, a shoe sketch signed by the head of sneaker design at Balmain, Safa Sahin, an invitation for two to the upcoming Balmain Festival, and the latest Balmain Non-Fungible Thread NFT via an airdrop.
Moreover, Balmain and Jeff Cole have exciting plans for an exclusive event that will take place at Balmain’s new boutique on Madison Avenue in New York City. This event will be specifically for ten randomly selected bidders, adding an extra element of allure and exclusivity to the collaboration.
