Zegna to Establish New Factory for Luxury Footwear and Leather Goods in Italy

Luxury fashion group Zegna has recently revealed plans to establish a new factory in Italy specializing in the production of luxury footwear and leather goods. Spanning a vast 12,500 square meters, the facility will be situated near Parma, in northern Italy, with a completion date slated for December 2026. It is anticipated to create over 300 employment opportunities by the time it becomes fully operational in 2027.

This strategic move by Zegna is a testament to their unwavering dedication to supporting the artistry of Italian craftsmanship and championing the exclusivity of “Made in Italy” products. In recent times, the luxury industry has grappled with a shortage of skilled artisans, necessitating brands like Zegna to invest in training and preserving these invaluable skills.

Gildo Zegna, the chairman and CEO of the Zegna group, emphasized that the new factory will serve not only as a production hub but also as a training ground for a new generation of artisans. Zegna aims to safeguard the future viability of these critical skills and actively contribute to the preservation of Italy’s rich heritage of craftsmanship.

Ermenegildo Zegna is an esteemed Italian fashion group encompassing various luxury brands, including Zegna and Thom Browne. In addition, the group holds a long-standing license agreement with the Estée Lauder Companies, enabling it to operate Tom Ford Fashion.

The inauguration of this new factory underscores Zegna’s commitment to enhancing its production capabilities and catering to the escalating demands of its brands. By investing in this cutting-edge facility, Zegna is not only securing its supply chain but also bolstering the entire Italian luxury industry. As the factory nears completion, it will be fascinating to observe how this investment elevates Zegna’s standing within the global luxury market.
