Zegna names Nilly Foster as CEO of North American division

Zegna, the renowned Italian menswear brand, has recently named Nilly Foster as the new CEO of its North American division. Foster will be taking over from Luca Lo Curzio, who has decided to pursue new opportunities after serving in the position since 2020.

Foster brings over twenty years of experience in the luxury industry and a deep understanding of the North American market to her new role. Most recently, she held the position of executive vice president of retail and wholesale at the American subsidiary of Christian Dior, where she spent eight years. Prior to that, Foster held positions at Ralph Lauren for seven years and at St. John Knits, an American knitwear label owned by the Lanvin group, for three years.

This appointment comes at a significant time for Zegna, as the North American market offers great potential for the brand. Zegna, which has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since December 2021 and also owns the American fashion house Thom Browne, currently operates 53 stores in the United States and has ambitious plans for expansion in the near future.

In terms of sales, the North American market contributes nearly 20% to Zegna’s overall revenue. The brand experienced remarkable growth of 54.1% in 2022, with a turnover of 294.6 million euros. The United States alone generated 270 million euros, marking a 53.5% increase compared to the previous year.

Given Foster’s extensive experience and expertise in the North American market, she is expected to play a crucial role in expanding Zegna’s presence and furthering its success in the region. She will assume her new position in mid-June, bringing fresh perspectives and strategies to drive the brand’s growth and solidify its position in the competitive luxury menswear sector.
