Yoox Net-A-Porter Group and The Prince’s Foundation Collaboration

Yoox Net-A-Porter Group and The Prince’s Foundation have joined forces to introduce a groundbreaking ready-to-wear collection that pays homage to the timeless works of Leonardo da Vinci while incorporating cutting-edge data-driven design elements. This exclusive collaboration seamlessly blends the esteemed traditions of British and Italian textile craftsmanship with a contemporary and stylish approach.

The exquisite 18-piece capsule collection, featuring 10 pieces for women and 8 pieces for men, is the culmination of the innovative Modern Artisan project. This visionary program is dedicated to guiding apprentice artisans through the intricate process of creating a high-end fashion line. Breaking new ground for the group, this collection is now available across all YNAP online platforms, connecting with a vast audience of 4.3 million discerning customers.

Inspired by the 500th anniversary of da Vinci’s legacy, the collection melds artistry and technological precision in perfect harmony. The women’s garments elegantly showcase da Vinci’s meticulous studies of fabric draping, incorporating elaborate folds, pleats, and ties, while the men’s pieces reflect his keen explorations of technical and architectural principles.

In addition to fostering creativity, data analysis played a crucial role in shaping the collection. Design decisions, including silhouette construction and color palettes, were guided by customer preferences. Italian students from Politecnico di Milano contributed significantly to the design process, while British artisans honed their skills at Dumfries House in Scotland to handcraft each exquisite piece.

Proceeds from the collection will go towards supporting The Prince’s Foundation’s commitment to preserving traditional textile craftsmanship. The enduring partnership between YNAP and The Prince’s Foundation will be prominently featured at the Homo Faber exhibition, hosted by the Michelangelo Foundation in 2021. This remarkable collaboration not only honors the art of craftsmanship and innovation but also sets the stage for a new generation of skilled artisans to flourish.
