Woolrich Expands Retail Footprint in EMEA and China

American outerwear brand, Woolrich, is making significant strides in its global expansion efforts by extending its retail footprint in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and entering the lucrative Chinese market. Building on its successful brand establishment in Japan over the past few years, Woolrich is now placing a strong emphasis on expanding its physical presence in China. To achieve this goal, the company has joined forces with luxury retailer Galeries Lafayette Beijing to showcase its fall 2021 collections for both men and women. In order to create a captivating and immersive shopping experience, three seasonal corners have been developed, including two expansive 538-square-foot spaces, as well as a pop-up brand area in the department store’s atrium. These specially crafted spaces boast an aesthetic that reflects the essence of Woolrich’s latest collection narrative, “Empowering Life in the Elements,” featuring elements such as solid wood accents, sleek aluminum railings, reflective curved glass, and embellished reconstituted trees adorned with autumn leaves and snow-covered branches. Additionally, the stores boast cozy carpets adorned with the brand’s iconic sheep logo.

In addition to expanding its presence in China, Woolrich is embarking on a strategic growth journey in the EMEA region. By unveiling 30 new brand spaces in renowned department stores such as Le Bon Marché Paris, Loden-Frey Munich, Jelmoli Zurich, Tsum Moscow, and La Rinascente Milan & Rome, the brand aims to enhance its accessibility to customers and establish a stronger foothold in these influential markets.

Woolrich International, the parent company of the Woolrich brand, was established in 2016 through the merger of Woolrich Inc. and Woolrich Europe. The L-Gam investment fund subsequently became the majority shareholder of the group in 2018. This strategic partnership has played a crucial role in supporting Woolrich’s global growth and expansion endeavors. Recent endeavours have seen the brand open flagship stores in Seoul and Osaka, Japan, in collaboration with its Japanese shareholder, Goldwin. With these new additions, Woolrich now boasts an impressive network of 37 flagship stores worldwide.

Woolrich’s expansion into the EMEA region and China underscores its unwavering commitment to reaching new markets and catering to a diverse customer base. By aligning with reputable retailers and creating visually captivating retail spaces, Woolrich ensures that its exceptional collections are accessible to a wider audience. As the brand continues to flourish and expand its global presence, it remains resolute in its mission to deliver premium outerwear that empowers individuals to embrace life in any climate.
