Wires and Le Specs Collaborate to Create Sustainable Eyewear Collections

Wires, the sustainable eyewear brand founded by model and activist Lily Cole, has teamed up with environmental start-up The Future Forest Company to introduce a carbon capture forest in Scotland. This partnership reflects Wires’ commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness. To support this important initiative, Wires Glasses is pledging to donate a tree for every £30 spent on a gift card. The brand is renowned for its use of bio-plastic in crafting its high-quality glasses.

By purchasing a gift card, customers not only contribute to the carbon capture forest but also receive a personalized tree certificate via email. This certificate provides detailed information about the newly-planted sapling and its geolocation, allowing customers to visit their tree and witness the direct impact of their support.

In a similar vein, Australian eyewear specialist Le Specs is collaborating with Christopher Kane’s More Joy label to create a collection of sunglasses that specifically target young consumers. These sunglasses feature reimagined versions of two classic Le Specs silhouettes, incorporating the iconic black, white, and red More Joy color scheme. Notably, the arms of the sunglasses prominently display More Joy keywords, such as “Sex,” “Special,” and “More Joy,” replacing the traditional designer logo. Each piece in this collection is priced at £75 (US$105) and can be purchased from Christopher Kane’s and Le Specs’ webstores.

More Joy, founded by Christopher Kane and his sister Tammy, strives to be an inclusive and accessible label that challenges the norms of traditional designer brands. The collaboration with Le Specs perfectly aligns with More Joy’s mission, as it caters to a younger consumer base that values both social consciousness and enjoyment. With the summer fashion season approaching and the gradual restoration of travel possibilities thanks to ongoing vaccine rollouts, consumers are sure to be drawn to these sustainable and trendy eyewear choices.
