Watches of Switzerland x Stadium Goods Exhibition Collaboration

Watches of Switzerland has teamed up with Stadium Goods to create an exciting and unique exhibition at its flagship store in SoHo, New York. This collaboration comes as Watches of Switzerland aims to further establish its presence in the US market, showcasing a blend of luxury timepieces and rare sneakers at the Sneaker Time exhibition, running until December 2nd.

The exhibition will feature 15 exclusive combinations, pairing limited-edition and hard-to-find sneakers like the Balenciaga Track.2, the Supreme x Nike Air Jordan V, and the Nike Air FoamPosite One “Paranorman” with exquisite timepieces from renowned brands like Grand Seiko, Hublot, Bremont, and Ulysse Nardin. David Hurley, executive vice president of Watches of Switzerland, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that the revamped lower level of the SoHo flagship store, alongside initiatives like Sneaker Time, will allow for enhanced engagement with a wider audience.

As a part of a luxury group that includes Mappin and Webb and Goldsmiths, Watches of Switzerland made a notable move by acquiring US jewellery chain Mayor’s for around $105 million in recent years, facilitating its expansion in the US market. With a presence in 23 stores nationwide, including 15 with Rolex concessions, US operations constituted 23% of the total group sales last year, generating £773 million in revenue.

By partnering with Stadium Goods, Watches of Switzerland has strategically aligned itself with a like-minded entity known for its expertise in the luxury sneaker realm. Stadium Goods, a popular sneaker marketplace, was acquired by Farfetch in a monumental $250 million acquisition, marking Farfetch’s first major transaction post its public offering in December of the prior year. This collaboration between Watches of Switzerland and Stadium Goods seamlessly merges the worlds of high-end sneaker and luxury timepiece collecting, presenting a truly exceptional exhibition in the heart of New York City.
