Vogue Magazine Announces Juan Costa Paz as Global Creative Director

Vogue magazine has recently announced a significant change in its creative leadership with the appointment of Juan Costa Paz as its new global creative director. With immediate effect, Costa Paz will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction of Vogue in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, he will play a crucial role in guiding the content strategy for all of Vogue’s international editions owned and operated by Condé Nast.

Costa Paz steps into the shoes of Raúl Martinez, who was known as Anna Wintour’s right-hand man. Martinez recently left Vogue in December to join Victoria’s Secret, as the lingerie brand seeks to undergo a rebranding process.

Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, expressed her enthusiasm for Costa Paz’s appointment, emphasizing that his unique approach to storytelling, optimism, humor, and belief in collaboration make him an ideal fit for the role. Edward Enninful, the European editorial director of Vogue, also praised Costa Paz’s creative vision and design innovation, highlighting that it will enhance Vogue’s content, captivating audiences and exciting industry partners.

Costa Paz brings a wealth of experience in filmmaking, streaming, and digital content creation to his new position. Prior to joining Vogue, he co-founded the Convoy Agency, an acclaimed creative agency based in Paris. Working with renowned brands such as Nike, Miu Miu, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton, Costa Paz has consistently demonstrated his ability to produce compelling and influential content for top fashion labels. Additionally, he served as the digital director for Kenzo and contributed to the global streaming platform, Mubi, during his tenure at Costa Films.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Costa Paz expressed his honor to join the Vogue team and work with such an iconic publication. He aims to leverage his background in storytelling to emphasize Vogue’s core values of inclusivity, creativity, and independence across various markets, ultimately bringing audiences closer together.

The appointment of Costa Paz is occurring at a time when Anna Wintour has assumed the position of chief content officer for Condé Nast worldwide. In addition to her role as global editorial director at Vogue, Wintour now carries even more leadership responsibilities within the publishing company.

With the introduction of Juan Costa Paz as the global creative director, Vogue is well-positioned to uphold its legacy as a pioneering fashion publication, consistently delivering captivating content and effectively engaging its diverse global audience.
