Versace’s Evolution in Retail Store Design

Versace, now a part of the Capri Holdings family through Michael Kors, is embarking on a significant evolution in its retail store design. The renowned Italian luxury brand has turned to the expertise of French designer Gwenaël Nicolas, who has a proven track record working with other high-end labels like Dolce & Gabbana, Moynat, and Berluti.

The new store concept introduced by Versace is a striking fusion of modern and classic elements, resulting in visually captivating spaces. Breaking away from traditional store layouts, the new design features fragmented structures, interplay of light and mirrors, and a mix of diverse materials. Bold diagonal lines and unexpected geometries redefine the store interiors, providing customers with a truly unique and immersive shopping experience.

Sustainability is also a key focus for Versace, with materials like marble, wood, and recycled glass being used in the new store designs. Gold accents are prominently featured, exuding luxury and glamour throughout the spaces. The first store to debut this fresh concept recently opened its doors in Miami, with plans to roll out the design in other European locations, such as Munich and Florence.

Beyond the physical store transformations, Versace is strategically enhancing its overall retail strategy to offer a more engaging brand experience for its clientele. As the brand’s global footprint expands, the new store design will be implemented worldwide, spreading the iconic Versace charm to fashion-forward cities across the globe.

Exciting developments are also taking place in Versace’s hometown of Milan, where a grand new headquarters spanning 8,000 square meters is taking shape at The Corner complex in the Porta Nuova district. With these ambitious initiatives on the horizon, Versace is poised to make a significant impact in the realm of luxury fashion retail.
