Veronica Bertozzi Appointed CEO of MSGM and Drives Strategic Shift

Veronica Bertozzi, the newly appointed CEO of MSGM, is set to lead the brand’s ambitious growth plans and strategic shift. Since taking on the role in the summer, Bertozzi has recognized the immense potential for MSGM to establish itself as a prominent brand in the industry. She emphasizes the label’s distinctive character and unique DNA, while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining its youthful and innovative style. Bertozzi believes that MSGM has the ability to successfully cater to the new generations in a way that sets it apart from its competitors, allowing it to capture a significant market share.

Roberta Benaglia, CEO of Style Capital, which holds a 32% share of MSGM, has praised Bertozzi as a highly competent manager with extensive knowledge of the sector. Benaglia is confident that the new management structure will effectively leverage MSGM’s growth potential. Creative director Massimo Giorgetti is also excited about Bertozzi joining the team and looks forward to shaping the brand’s future with her.

Bertozzi’s appointment represents more than just a change in leadership for MSGM. The brand is aiming to create an independent structure by internalizing the commercial division, a shift away from relying on multi-label showroom partners. As part of this strategy, MSGM plans to move into new headquarters next year, which will serve as a centralized hub for all its activities. The headquarters will feature a worldwide sales showroom with a dedicated team organized by markets. It will showcase MSGM’s ready-to-wear collections for women and men, as well as the sustainable Fantastic Green capsule collection and a range of footwear and accessories.

The footwear and accessories division will play a crucial role in MSGM’s development and growth strategy, aiming to become a core business that supports the brand’s overall positioning. To achieve this, MSGM plans to collaborate with new Italian designers and suppliers known for their expertise in creating designs with a strong and individual identity. By expanding its accessories offerings, MSGM seeks to enhance its popularity in Europe, Korea, Japan, and China, while staying true to its DNA and strengthening its presence in core markets.

The AW22 collection will be the first to showcase the outcomes of this new strategy. However, in the upcoming SS22 show, which is taking place this month, MSGM will provide a glimpse of its new direction with targeted additions from the shoes and bags division. The brand anticipates that this strategic shift will surpass predicted results for 2021 and enable the company to rebound to pre-Covid levels from 2019.
