Vanessa Bruno Infuses Mexican Spirit into Spring 2023 Collection

Renowned French fashion designer Vanessa Bruno is infusing her upcoming collection with the captivating essence of Mexico. Drawing inspiration from the energetic and creative atmosphere of Mexico City, Bruno has meticulously crafted a spring 2023 capsule collection that pays homage to the country’s rich traditions and contemporary culture.

The collection encompasses fifty ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, which include light-colored dresses adorned with floral and graphic prints. These visually striking ensembles celebrate the vibrancy of Mexico, while raffia bags and other accessories incorporate elements reminiscent of the country’s captivating visual aesthetic. Dedicated concept stores entitled ‘Mexico mi Amor’ will house the collection in Saint-Tropez and Paris, while select stores and corners in Paris, Lyon, and other locations will also carry the line.

Furthermore, to truly encapsulate the spirit of Mexico City, Bruno has ingeniously transformed her flagship store in Paris into an immersive concept store inspired by the iconic designs of Mexican architect Luis Barragán. Alongside showcasing the collection, the store features furniture sourced directly from the Mexico City market, adding an authentic touch to the overall experience for customers. Bruno has also collaborated with local designers and artists from the city’s vibrant art scene to reimagine and contemporize Mexican craftsmanship within the collection.

Bruno’s decision to explore Mexico as a source of inspiration aligns with the fashion world’s current captivation with the country. Dior, for instance, is set to host its cruise show in Mexico City, collaborating with local artisans to create luxurious products. Bruno perceives this fascination as a testament to the exceptional energy and creative aura that permeates the city.

In Bruno’s words, “Luxury makes its own shows. What I like is to travel, to meet cultures and to share these discoveries with our clients. In Mexico City, there is an incredible energy and creativity, whether in cuisine, art, architecture, or fashion. I was particularly interested in showcasing how a young generation reinterprets traditions.”

Furthermore, alongside the collection, Bruno’s flagship store in Paris will offer a customization workshop, providing an additional service to customers. Once the Mexican-inspired adventure concludes, the flagship shop will temporarily close its doors to install the brand’s new boutique concept, which will eventually be introduced across all 65 points of sale.

Vanessa Bruno’s exploration of Mexico within her latest collection serves as a compelling testament to the global influence and inspiration that the fashion industry derives from diverse cultures and places. Through her inclusion of Mexican craftsmanship and modern interpretations of tradition, Bruno artfully showcases her deep appreciation for the world’s vibrant and diverse fashion landscape.
