Vanessa Bruno, the renowned premium women’s ready-to-wear brand, is poised to expand its global reach and venture into new markets, with Shanghai being a key upcoming location. The brand, established by Vanessa Bruno herself in 1996, has experienced remarkable growth, boasting a staggering 30% increase in 2022 compared to the previous year. To support this expansion, Vanessa Bruno has welcomed Brand Sisters, a company led by Arié Benayoun, as a minority stakeholder.

Brand Sisters, already the proud owner of Zapa and Tara Jarmon, brings invaluable retail experience to the table. With the addition of Vanessa Bruno, the company now boasts a total of nearly 250 outlets. Importantly, each brand will maintain its own distinct identity and concept. The shareholding structure of Vanessa Bruno now comprises Brand Sisters, Vanessa Bruno (which retains majority stake), and Henri Sebaoun, the brand’s managing director.

Henri Sebaoun, who joined the brand and made significant investments in 2019, has played a pivotal role in developing Vanessa Bruno’s extensive store network. Despite the formidable challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the brand has successfully established over 60 points of sale in France, including corners within renowned department stores and standalone boutiques. On the international front, Vanessa Bruno is embarking on its expansion journey in partnership with another key player, having recently opened a store in San Sebastian, Spain. Exciting plans are also underway to introduce stores in Switzerland, with strategic locations in Lausanne and Zurich.

The brand’s international development will continue with the debut of a pop-up store in Shanghai, followed by the establishment of a permanent boutique on the bustling Nanjing Road. Shanghai, ranking ninth in terms of the number of millionaires worldwide according to Henley&Partners, offers a promising market for Vanessa Bruno, especially as Chinese consumers gravitate towards their pre-pandemic shopping habits.

Vanessa Bruno’s growth strategy and expansion plans are firmly aligned with its vision for the future. By forging a partnership with Brand Sisters and harnessing their considerable expertise in the retail sector, the brand aims to fortify its presence in existing markets while seizing new opportunities in untapped regions, showcasing its exceptional range of women’s ready-to-wear offerings. As Vanessa Bruno continues to push boundaries and explore new horizons, it will steadfastly uphold its enduring commitment to timeless elegance and sophisticated designs.
