Valentino’s Bold Move in China: Catwalk Show and Flagship Store Opening in Beijing

Valentino is making a bold and stylish statement in China with its upcoming catwalk show and flagship store opening in Beijing. This move follows in the footsteps of other prestigious brands like AMI, who are also making waves in the Chinese market by showcasing their collections in Shanghai. The renowned designer Pierpaolo Piccioli is spearheading Valentino’s expansion in China, ensuring that the brand’s presence is nothing short of extraordinary.

The newly opened Valentino store in Beijing is a magnificent 400m² space spread across two levels, featuring stunning interiors designed by Piccioli and acclaimed architect David Chipperfield. Located in the vibrant Sanlitun district, this flagship store adds to Valentino’s growing presence in Greater China, bringing the total number of boutiques in the region to 29. Since establishing their first store in China back in 2007, Valentino has experienced tremendous success, with Chinese consumers accounting for nearly 30% of the brand’s overall sales.

This upcoming event in Beijing is not Valentino’s first venture into the Chinese market. In 2013, the brand held a memorable show in Shanghai to celebrate the opening of another flagship store, showcasing a captivating blend of ready-to-wear and haute couture pieces. With a reported revenue of €1.2 billion in 2018, marking a 3% increase from the previous year, Valentino continues to solidify its position in the luxury sector, with China emerging as a key market for its strategic growth.

Following the grand opening of the flagship store on November 6, an exclusive party and haute couture show are set to dazzle attendees on November 7, presenting Valentino’s exquisite designs in a highly anticipated event that will draw fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders alike. China’s booming luxury market continues to attract top-tier brands like Valentino, underscoring the country’s status as a rising fashion capital.
