Valentino Joins Industry Leaders in Energy Efficiency

In an effort to further enhance its commitment to energy efficiency, luxury brand Valentino has joined other industry leaders in minimizing its energy consumption. Following the recent measures taken by the luxury group LVMH, Valentino has announced that its stores will now switch off the lights at 10 p.m. This global initiative aims to reduce the brand’s daily energy usage by approximately 800 kWh, equivalent to the hourly consumption of more than 13,000 traditional light bulbs.

The energy-saving measures implemented by Valentino since October 6 extend beyond the brand’s 95 boutiques, encompassing its warehouses and workshops as well, with the exception of safety lighting. This comprehensive approach to energy conservation includes the adjustment of signage, shop windows, and interior lights. Valentino emphasizes that the act of turning off the lights not only contributes to improved energy consumption but also represents a meaningful symbol aligned with its corporate culture and core values. Additionally, this step helps reduce the brand’s operating costs.

Valentino’s commitment to environmental sustainability extends beyond energy-conscious practices in its stores. The brand also announced that it has converted 80% of the energy used in its headquarters, sales points, and workshops located in Italy to renewable sources. This transition to renewable energy aligns with Valentino’s broader environmental initiatives, highlighting its dedication to reducing its carbon footprint.

As luxury brands increasingly recognize the importance of environmental responsibility, Valentino’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and utilize renewable energy sources serve as an example for the industry. By implementing these initiatives, Valentino continues to showcase its commitment to sustainability while also setting a positive trend for other luxury brands to follow.
