Valentino Collaborates with Wanna to Launch Groundbreaking Virtual Try-On App

Valentino has teamed up with Wanna, an Augmented Reality (AR) technology company owned by the Farfetch platform, to introduce a groundbreaking virtual try-on app. This collaboration sets Valentino apart as the first luxury fashion house to offer virtual try-ons for ready-to-wear pieces through a demonstration app, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation.

The pilot project, known as WANNA Wear and Valentino’s Virtual Try-On (VTO), enables customers to virtually try on a curated selection from the Urban Flows Fall 2023 collection, as well as the exclusive ValenTie tie, which is only available on the brand’s website as part of the BlackTie Fall/Winter 2023/2024 collection.

By leveraging AR technology, the VTO app enhances the online shopping experience by addressing one of the primary challenges faced by luxury brands in e-commerce: the desire of customers to try before they buy. With the Wanna Wear app, Valentino empowers its customers to digitally try on different garments of various styles, allowing them to envision themselves wearing these pieces with remarkable realism, according to Sergey Arkhangelskiy, CEO of Wanna.

This virtual try-on feature not only provides an engaging and immersive experience but also encourages customers to make more confident and efficient purchasing decisions. “With the launch of this new virtual try-on category, we aim to support customers in making informed purchase decisions and increase their trust in the products,” said Sergey Arkhangelskiy.

In addition to enhancing the customer experience, the virtual try-on app also saves time for customers who no longer need to visit physical stores, thereby driving online sales for the brand. The accessibility of the app allows customers to shop at any time and grants them access to a wider selection through the brand’s website. Moreover, this immersive digital experience has the potential to minimize issues related to returns and exchanges, as customers can make more accurate decisions based on their virtual try-on experiences, reducing the risk of dissatisfaction upon receiving the products.

Ultimately, the introduction of the virtual try-on app signifies a win-win situation for both Valentino and its customers. The cutting-edge technology offered by the Wanna Wear app not only showcases the brand’s dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation in the luxury fashion industry but also provides customers with an enhanced and informed shopping experience.

To experience the potential of virtual try-on for yourself, the Wanna Wear app can be downloaded for free on the App Store.
