The V&A Museum’s highly acclaimed Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition has received such overwhelming praise and interest from the public that it will now be extended until September. Since its opening on February 2nd, the exhibition has been a resounding success, attracting over 121,566 visitors in a short period of time. In fact, pre-bookable tickets sold out within just 19 days of its opening, highlighting the immense popularity of the show.
Originally scheduled to conclude on July 14th, due to popular demand, the exhibition will now run for an additional seven weeks. Tristram Hunt, the director of the V&A Museum, expressed his joy at the incredible response from visitors and the opportunity to accommodate more individuals who wish to immerse themselves in the world of Dior before the exhibition closes.
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams is renowned as the largest and most comprehensive exhibition on the house of Dior ever presented in the UK. Drawing inspiration from the successful Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve exhibition held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the V&A’s presentation also features a new section dedicated to Dior’s fascination with British culture.
For those eager to experience the magic of Dior, tickets for the extended run of the exhibition will be released on the 15th of each month for the following 30 days. A limited number of tickets will also be available for in-person purchase on a first-come, first-served basis every day, starting from 10 am. With over 500 exquisite objects on display, including rare Haute Couture gowns, vintage perfumes, original make-up, and creations from all six artistic directors who have helmed the fashion house since Christian Dior’s passing, this exhibition offers a captivating glimpse into the legacy of one of fashion’s most iconic brands.
