URW Announces Rebranding of Six European Malls as Westfield

URW, the multinational company responsible for the Westfield brand, has announced plans to rebrand six of its European mall locations as Westfield, starting in September. The malls undergoing the rebranding include La Part-Dieu in Lyon, France; La Maquinista and Glories malls in Barcelona, Spain; Donau Zentrum and Shopping City Süd in Vienna, Austria; and CentrO in Oberhausen, Germany. Alongside the rebranding, a series of global events and experiences will be organized to connect Westfield customers worldwide. Additionally, an extensive marketing and advertising campaign will be launched, highlighting the company’s commitment to becoming a global hub for products and artists in various fields.

The decision to rebrand these flagship centers as Westfield was driven by their outstanding qualities in their respective markets. These malls are strategically positioned, offering excellent transportation options to visitors. Moreover, they boast distinctive architectural and design features that set them apart. Additionally, they prioritize community engagement, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability, which aligns with Westfield’s values.

This move follows the successful launch of Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in March 2021. As the first Westfield-branded center in the country, it has emerged as the largest retail, leisure, and entertainment destination in the Netherlands. Alongside this new addition, London already houses two Westfield malls.

Jean-Marie Tritant, the CEO of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, expressed excitement about the rebranding, emphasizing that their Westfield destinations in major cities present a unique platform for global and emerging brands. With a loyal customer base, these European assets possess immense potential to thrive and solidify their presence under the Westfield banner.
