Tommy Hilfiger Strengthens Market Position with Lardini Licensing Deal

Tommy Hilfiger is making moves to strengthen its position in the European and Asia-Pacific markets through a new licensing deal for its premium Tailored line with Italian powerhouse Lardini. The collaboration, slated to kick off in the upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 season, will see Lardini take the reins in designing, producing, and distributing Tailored suits, jackets, and trousers in the EMEA and APAC regions. This strategic partnership is geared towards boosting sales and expanding Tommy Hilfiger’s global footprint, aiming to cement its brand presence in these crucial markets.

Lardini, a renowned name in the realm of men’s formal and sportswear, boasts a storied history of research and innovation tracing back to its establishment in 1978. Headquartered in Filottrano, near Ancona, Marche, the company is esteemed for its top-notch craftsmanship. Generating revenues of 98 million euros, Lardini has collaborated with a roster of upscale brands in the past, showcasing its prowess in delivering exceptional menswear collections.

Having dipped its toes into formal menswear via a license agreement with Switzerland’s Holy Fashion Group back in 1998, Tommy Hilfiger took the plunge of incorporating the line into its core operations in 2011. The brand further diversified its offerings in 2013 with the launch of Tommy Hilfiger Tailored, a dedicated division focusing on contemporary fits, cuts, and premium fabrics from Italy, solidifying its standing as a front-runner in the formal menswear segment.

In 2017, Tommy Hilfiger licensed its Tailored line in the U.S. to Peerless Clothing, a respected American apparel manufacturer specializing in menswear. By joining forces with Lardini for the EMEA and APAC regions, Tommy Hilfiger is continuing to tap into the wealth of industry expertise to expand its formal product offerings. Martijn Haglman, the CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe, expressed his confidence in Lardini’s market acumen to propel growth in Europe and Asia.

As the fashion landscape continues to shift, collaborations such as the one between Tommy Hilfiger and Lardini underscore a commitment to innovation and growth. With a steadfast emphasis on delivering top-tier tailored products, this partnership is poised to elevate the brand’s presence in pivotal markets, cementing Tommy Hilfiger’s reputation as a trendsetter in menswear.
