Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge

Tommy Hilfiger is once again calling upon social entrepreneurs to share their innovative ideas through the fourth edition of the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge. This global program aims to provide financial support and mentorship opportunities to individuals from historically underrepresented communities, including BIPOC, people with disabilities, and women.

Interested individuals can submit their applications until April 29, 2022. To involve their loyal fan base, Tommy Hilfiger is also inviting brand enthusiasts to participate as “digital judges” in the initial phase of the challenge. These judges will help narrow down the applications to the top 50, and from there, an internal selection process will choose six finalists.

The chosen finalists will then have the opportunity to develop their business plans with guidance from Tommy Hilfiger and external industry experts. The final event will determine the two winners, who will receive a total of €200,000 in funding. There will also be an “Audience’s Favorite Vote” prize of €15,000, along with a year-long mentorship with Tommy Hilfiger’s internal global experts and a year-long mentorship and course at INSEAD.

Since its launch in 2018, the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge has provided €550,000 in funding to support entrepreneurs worldwide. This year, the program remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering innovation, inclusivity, and diversity within the fashion industry, with the goal of driving lasting change.

Martijn Hagman, CEO of Tommy Hilfiger global and PVH Europe, highlights the brand’s desire to collaborate with communities in order to bring about meaningful change. He expresses enthusiasm for the fourth edition of the challenge and eagerly awaits the emergence of new ideas that will shape the future of fashion.

The winners of the third edition of the challenge were Lalaland, a Netherlands-based platform that utilizes artificial intelligence to create inclusive synthetic models representing various ethnicities, and Uzuri K&Y, an eco-friendly shoe brand based in Rwanda that uses recycled car tires and supports local youth.

With the fourth edition of the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge now open for applications, aspiring social entrepreneurs have the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas and drive positive change within the fashion industry. By prioritizing inclusivity and offering mentorship, Tommy Hilfiger provides a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard and supported. As the program continues to evolve, it will undoubtedly contribute to a more diverse and sustainable future for the fashion industry.
