Tom Ford’s Fashion Segment Undergoing Restructuring with Appointment of Lelio Gavazza as CEO

Tom Ford’s fashion segment is undergoing restructuring, and the latest development is the appointment of Lelio Gavazza as CEO of the fashion entity. This newly created position will oversee the overall management of the brand, including collection development, production, and distribution.

Lelio Gavazza brings over 20 years of experience in the luxury industry, with a notable tenure at Bulgari. During his 13 years at the LVMH group’s jewelry brand, he held various regional leadership positions, including in Greater China and EMEA. Eventually, he became the executive vice president of sales and retail.

On September 18, Lelio Gavazza will leave his position at the French firm to join forces with Ermenegildo Gildo Zegna, CEO of the Zegna Group. He will work closely with Guillaume Jesel, the recently appointed president and CEO of Tom Ford. It is important to note that Tom Ford began its restructuring process after being acquired by Estée Lauder Companies in late 2022. The menswear, womenswear, accessories, and underwear lines are licensed by the Zegna Group.

Ermenegildo Gildo Zegna expressed confidence in Lelio Gavazza’s global leadership experience, particularly in retail sales management, wholesale distribution, marketing, digital, and key markets like China. This expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of Tom Ford Fashion.

With the artistic direction now led by Peter Hawkings, the new CEO and president of Tom Ford, along with Lelio Gavazza, will ensure the continued success of the fashion house. This transition marks the gradual withdrawal of Tom Ford himself from the creative process over the course of 2023. Ford presented his final collection in late April, drawing inspiration from his own archives. The brand’s first collection under Peter Hawkings’ guidance is set to be unveiled during the September fashion week.
