Tom Ford Appoints Peter Hawkings as Creative Director

A few days after presenting its ultimate collection under the guidance of its founder, Tom Ford, the American brand is embarking on a new chapter in its creative history. The eponymous house has chosen to maintain continuity by appointing designer Peter Hawkings as the Creative Director to succeed Tom Ford. Hawkings has been a collaborator of Ford for almost twenty-five years and served as the Vice President of Tom Ford Menswear. Starting his career at Gucci in 1998 during the Tom Ford era, Hawkings joined Ford when he launched his own fashion house in 2006.

Tom Ford expressed his confidence in Hawkings, stating that the brand has found the perfect creative director. Ford views his successor as an incredibly talented leader with extensive experience in the industry. The appointment of Hawkings assures Ford that the brand will continue his commitment to creating fashion products of the highest design and quality.

The restructuring of the brand is being overseen by The Estée Lauder Companies, which recently acquired Tom Ford. Alongside Hawkings’ arrival, the group also announced the appointment of Guillaume Jesel as the President and CEO of Tom Ford. Jesel had previously held leadership positions at Tom Ford Beauty.

While Hawkings takes over the creative direction of the Women’s, Men’s, and Accessories collections, Tom Ford is expected to remain involved with the brand until the end of the year. After stepping down as the President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America last year, Ford will now focus on his audiovisual production company, Fade to Black, and upcoming projects within the industry.
