Tom Ford Announces New Creative Director and CEO

Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) Inc. has made significant announcements regarding the Tom Ford brand, appointing new key figures and signaling a new era of growth and innovation. Peter Hawkings has been named the brand’s new creative director, while Guillaume Jesel has been brought on board as the CEO. In addition, Ermenegildo Zegna will appoint a new CEO for Tom Ford Fashion. These appointments are aimed at ensuring a consistent and cohesive image for the brand across all products, brand communication, and retail outlets.

Peter Hawkings is a familiar face to the Tom Ford brand, having worked closely with Tom Ford himself for nearly twenty-five years. He joined the brand in 2006 and has held various positions, including senior vice president of Tom Ford menswear. His extensive experience in overseeing the design and production of menswear, as well as his collaboration with Tom Ford during their time at Gucci, make him well-suited for the role of creative director.

Tom Ford expressed confidence in Hawkings’ abilities, highlighting their long-standing working relationship and praising Hawkings’ talent and industry experience. With Hawkings as the creative director for fashion, he will be responsible for the womenswear, menswear, and accessory categories, as well as leading the fashion segment and fashion shows.

Guillaume Jesel, the newly appointed CEO of Tom Ford, brings nearly a decade of brand leadership experience, including his previous role at Tom Ford Beauty. In his new position, Jesel will report to ELC executive leaders Jane Hertzmark Hudis and Tracey Travis, further solidifying ELC’s commitment to the Tom Ford brand and its vision for growth and success.

ELC’s acquisition of the Tom Ford brand in November of last year made waves in the fashion industry, with a purchase price of $2.8 billion. The acquisition also included an extension of Tom Ford’s relationship with Ermenegildo Zegna, granting a long-term license for all men’s and women’s fashion, accessories, and underwear. Zegna took over the operations of the Tom Ford fashion business as part of the transaction, and Tom Ford’s license with eyewear manufacturer Marcolin was extended as well.

These recent developments within the Tom Ford brand signal a new chapter marked by growth and innovation. With Peter Hawkings as the creative director and Guillaume Jesel as the CEO, there is great anticipation for the brand’s future collections and the overall direction of the company. The collaboration between these key figures, along with the support from ELC, sets the stage for Tom Ford to continue delivering high-quality and fashionable products. The fashion world eagerly awaits the upcoming fashion shows and the impact of the new leadership on the brand’s overall image and success.
