Tiffany Unveils New Pop-up Boutique in Paris

Tiffany, the esteemed American jewelry house, has recently unveiled an exciting addition to its brand with the opening of a new pop-up boutique in Paris. Located on the prestigious Avenue Montaigne, the pop-up store will be operational for one year and showcases a selection of exquisite jewelry pieces from Tiffany’s archives. Its proximity to Christian Dior’s flagship store highlights the ambitions of Tiffany’s owner, LVMH.

Strategically positioned in the heart of Paris’ Golden Triangle, the store encompasses an area of 80 square meters, providing a captivating retail experience for visitors. In line with Dior’s concept flagship store, the Tiffany pop-up aims to enchant customers by presenting a meticulously curated collection of jewelry pieces by the iconic American brand.

Among the remarkable works on display are pieces by George Paulding Farnham, Tiffany’s chief jewelry designer from 1885 to 1908. Particularly notable is Farnham’s enchanting enamel orchid brooch, known for its mesmerizing realism. The exhibition also features a delicate golden thread bracelet, beloved by Annie Olivia Tiffany, the daughter of the brand’s founder, Charles Lewis Tiffany. Additionally, visitors can marvel at the original catalog from the auction of the French Crown Jewels, which Charles Lewis Tiffany acquired in 1887, further solidifying the brand’s reputation as America’s leading jeweler.

Anthony Ledru, CEO of Tiffany & Co., expressed the enduring connection between the brand and Paris, a relationship that spans almost two centuries. He describes the pop-up store as a modern embodiment of this significant bond, offering an innovative and experiential approach to retail in the city. Alongside showcasing historic objects from The Tiffany Archives, the store proudly displays the brand’s contemporary collections, including Tiffany T1, Tiffany City HardWear, Tiffany Knot, and Tiffany Victoria. Classic works by renowned jewelry designers Elsa Peretti and Jean Schlumberger are also featured.

The pop-up boutique caters to private clients, providing a secluded area bathed in the warm glow of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s famous leaded-glass lampshades. The store’s aesthetic partly mirrors the recently revamped upper floors of Tiffany’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, complete with its Blue Box café, baby boutique, and antique books. However, instead of the classic Tiffany robin-egg blue, the pop-up store boasts a dominant color scheme of lapis lazuli, evident in the backlit marble walls and deep pile carpet.

Notably, the pricing of the jewelry pieces available in the pop-up store is more accessible compared to Tiffany’s reputation as a grand luxury brand. With bracelets starting at 1,950 euros and Peretti’s iconic wristbands beginning at 3,000 euros, customers can indulge in Tiffany’s craftsmanship without breaking the bank. Nevertheless, a circular display still features the brand’s most famous offering – diamond engagement rings – complete with blue velour boxes and the heartfelt invitation to “Marry me!”

Tiffany, founded in New York City in 1837, has successfully established itself as a globally recognized jewelry brand. With over 300 retail stores worldwide and a dedicated workforce of more than 13,000 employees, the company continues to thrive in the industry. In January 2021, LVMH successfully acquired Tiffany for an impressive $15.8 billion after a series of negotiations and a legal battle, marking the conglomerate’s most expensive purchase to date. The opening of this pop-up boutique signifies LVMH’s first notable venture in its hometown of Paris.
