Theory Announces Collaboration with Fashion Designer Lucas Ossendrijver

Theory, the popular men’s and women’s fashion brand, has announced a new collaboration with renowned fashion designer Lucas Ossendrijver. Previously known for his work as the menswear designer at Lanvin, Ossendrijver will now be designing a series of capsule collections for both men and women under the Theory brand. These collections will showcase his unique approach to materials and his ability to blend activewear and tailoring aesthetics, all inspired by urban lifestyle codes.

Ossendrijver brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent 14 years at Lanvin before leaving in 2018. During his time there, he had the opportunity to work alongside Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme, further enhancing his expertise in the fashion industry.

Speaking about the collaboration, Ossendrijver expressed his excitement about working with Theory, highlighting the brand’s iconic status and the creative opportunities it presents, particularly during this time of significant change in the fashion industry. Kazumi Yanai, chairman of Theory and Fast Retailing USA, also shared his enthusiasm, stating that this collaboration marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brand. Yanai believes that partnering with Ossendrijver will strengthen their commitment to delivering exceptional design and value to their customers.

Theory, as an American brand, is owned by Japan’s Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. The parent company has been actively working to keep Theory relevant in the contemporary fashion landscape by collaborating with sister brands. For example, this month, Uniqlo and Theory will share retail space at the Superdry Regent Street flagship store, marking the first time these two apparel brands will be located together in the UK or Europe. Additionally, Uniqlo and Theory have previously collaborated on collections that have received attention and acclaim.

It’s worth noting that Uniqlo is the largest brand within the Fast Retailing Group, which also includes GU, Helmut Lang, PLST (Plus T), Comptoir des Cotonniers, Princesse Tam.Tam, and J Brand. This diverse portfolio allows Fast Retailing to meet the ever-evolving needs of consumers and establish a strong presence in the fashion industry.

With the collaboration between Theory and Lucas Ossendrijver, fashion enthusiasts can expect an exciting fusion of innovative design, urban influences, and exceptional craftsmanship. As the brand continues to evolve, it remains committed to delivering high-quality fashion that resonates with its loyal customer base.
