The Row Launches Inaugural Fragrance Collection

Luxury brand The Row, founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, has ventured into the world of fragrances with the launch of its inaugural scent collection. The collaboration with Haley Alexander van Oosten, the founder of L’Oeil du Vert, has resulted in the creation of three hand-blended oils, each named after a letter from the word “ROW”.

The fragrances all revolve around a base of sandalwood, with each scent having its own unique combination of ingredients. The first scent, R, combines sandalwood with tobacco leaves, esfand seeds, and rose. The second, O, incorporates notes of blue water lily, olibanum, and orris. The third, W, features amber, champa, and incense woods. These luxurious oils can currently be exclusively purchased at The Row stores, priced between $490 and $550.

According to Ashley Olsen, the collaboration with van Oosten happened organically. The Olsen sisters were already fans of van Oosten’s fragrance oils and saw an opportunity to work together. Van Oosten, who runs L’Oeil du Vert from her studio in Malibu, specializes in creating fragrance oils by hand-distilling them and combining them with various locally sourced raw materials.

For van Oosten, collaborating with The Row was a chance to bring a new dimension to the brand’s overall experience. The development of this collection took four years, during which van Oosten aimed to craft fragrances that would complement The Row’s aesthetic and enhance its sensory appeal.

Since its establishment in 2006, The Row has received immense recognition in the fashion industry. It has been honored with five CFDA Awards, two in womenswear and three in accessories, since 2012. Renowned for its minimalist designs, precision tailoring, and utilization of premium fabrics, The Row has garnered a dedicated global following. In 2018, the brand expanded into menswear, and earlier this year, it unveiled its first childrenswear collection.

The introduction of fragrances signifies an exciting new chapter for The Row as it expands its product offerings and caters to the desires of its discerning clientele. By collaborating with Haley Alexander van Oosten, the brand has ensured that its debut scent collection embodies the same level of sophistication and refinement synonymous with The Row.
