The Edit LDN: Online Store Rebrands and Targets Growing Demand for Limited Edition Sneakers and Streetwear

The online store The Edit Man London has recently undergone a rebranding and is now known as The Edit LDN. The decision to rebrand came as the company recognized the growing demand from women for limited edition sneakers and high-end streetwear. In order to better represent its diverse customer base, the company made the decision to drop the word “Man” from its name.

CEO Moses Rashid explained that the decision was made based on the increasing number of female buyers. Since the company’s launch in January 2020, the percentage of female buyers has steadily increased, surpassing 50% in March of this year. Rashid stated, “We dropped the ‘Man’ from the name simply because the number of women buying had been steadily increasing… It was the right thing to do.”

The Edit LDN has experienced significant growth over the past year, with sales rising by 60% month-on-month. In fact, the company has already outperformed its performance in 2020 within the first four months of 2021 in terms of traffic, transactions, and revenue. Rashid predicts that by the end of this year, The Edit LDN will be valued at £10 million, and the company aims to triple its valuation by the end of 2022 due to its rapid sales and revenue growth.

With a global marketplace for limited edition sneakers and streetwear estimated to be worth $6 billion, Rashid believes that there is potential for growth. He believes that the market could grow five-fold by 2030. In order to accommodate this anticipated growth, The Edit LDN plans to raise funds this year to expand into new markets. Rashid stated, “With 60% month-on-month growth and mounting interest, and with the business set to take-off, we aim to raise funds this year to propel us as we launch in new markets.”

As an online store, The Edit LDN offers a wide range of new and pre-loved products from popular brands. These include Yeezy, Jordan, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Off-White, Supreme, and Fear of God. The site caters to a diverse community of fashion followers, collectors, and investors. It has garnered interest from high-profile individuals such as TV and film celebrities, professional footballers, and even royal families worldwide.

The Edit LDN has also established partnerships with styling services and concierge companies to expand its community of buyers. Through these collaborations, the company has gained access to a highly engaged and price agnostic audience. Rashid highlighted the company’s success in selling high-value items, stating, “We’re regularly selling sneakers and streetwear worth £1,500 each. Recently, we sold a Gucci TNF jacket for £9,200.”

With its rebranding and ongoing success, The Edit LDN is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory and establish itself as a leading player in the global market for limited edition sneakers and streetwear.
