The British Footwear Association Enhances Strategy and Growth Through New Directors

The British Footwear Association (BFA) is undergoing significant enhancements to its strategy and growth by appointing three new directors to its non-executive board. This decision comes at a time when the BFA is experiencing a surge in new members and partners, reflecting the increased interest and involvement in the association.

The newly appointed directors, Jane Wilson, Rink Bindra, and William Miles, bring diverse expertise and backgrounds to the BFA. Jane Wilson has an extensive career in the footwear sector, having worked in renowned companies such as Start-Rite Shoes, ECCO, and Clarks International. She currently holds the CEO position at the William Lamb Group and is also a partner at MOOT Management Consulting. Rink Bindra, on the other hand, possesses a strong commercial background and entrepreneurial experience. He has spent the past nine years in the footwear trade, with his most recent role as head of omnichannel at Tower London. Finally, William Miles, an intellectual property lawyer, has been providing valuable advice on dispute resolution and litigation to BFA members and clients in the footwear industry for over seven years.

Lucy Reece Raybould, the CEO of the BFA, expresses her excitement about the appointment of these new directors, highlighting the high quality of the applicants and their commitment to the association’s mission. She believes that their addition is indicative of the determination and optimism demonstrated by BFA members, as well as the success of the association’s newly implemented, inclusive strategy, which fosters confidence and collaboration.

In addition to the newly appointed directors, the BFA has also announced the establishment of four working groups. These groups will focus on key areas of importance within the industry: Commerce & Trade, Marketing & Representation, Production, Training & Future Technologies, and Sustainability & Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG). This proactive approach emphasizes the BFA’s dedication to addressing crucial challenges in the footwear sector and driving positive change.

With the new directors and the creation of strategic working groups, the BFA is well-positioned to build upon its achievements and further promote excellence and innovation in the British footwear industry. These developments mark an exciting chapter for the association as it continues to support, represent, and elevate the UK footwear sector.
