Tapestry Unveils Ambitious Corporate Responsibility Goals for 2025

Tapestry has recently unveiled its ambitious corporate responsibility goals for 2025 in its latest 2018 Corporate Responsibility Report. The parent company of iconic brands like Kate Spade, Coach, and Stuart Weitzman, Tapestry Inc. is dedicated to making positive changes across various facets of corporate responsibility.

A key focus area for Tapestry is diversity and inclusion within its workforce. The company has set measurable targets to enhance diversity within its North American and brand leadership teams, bridge gender and ethnicity gaps in its Employee Inclusion Index scores, and implement a global core benefit standard for self-care, parental, and family care leaves.

In addition, Tapestry is placing a strong emphasis on its supply chain operations. By aiming for 95% transparency and mapping of raw materials in its supply chains by 2025 and striving for a 10% reduction in water consumption company-wide, Tapestry is demonstrating its commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainable practices in the fashion industry.

Furthermore, Tapestry is committed to ensuring that its suppliers uphold ethical standards through the adherence to its Supplier Code of Conduct. The company plans to gather more detailed information from suppliers on their environmental impact to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

The 2018 report also details additional objectives such as providing empowerment programs for 50,000 individuals involved in manufacturing for Tapestry’s brands, sourcing 90% of leather from Silver and Gold-rated Leather Working Group tanneries, incorporating 75% recycled content in packaging, and reducing waste in North American corporate and distribution centers by 25%.

The launch of “Our Social Fabric,” a dedicated microsite focused on sustainability and social governance, coincides with the release of the Corporate Responsibility Report. Tapestry’s proactive approach to setting ambitious goals for 2025 demonstrates its commitment to ethical practices and responsible corporate citizenship in response to increasing consumer awareness of sustainability issues. By prioritizing diversity, transparency in the supply chain, and sustainable initiatives, Tapestry is paving the way for a more ethical and environmentally conscious future in the fashion industry.
