Swarovski, UN, and Study Hall Launch ‘One X One’ Sustainability Accelerator Program

Swarovski, the United Nations (UN), and Study Hall have joined forces to introduce a groundbreaking sustainability accelerator program known as “One X One.” This visionary initiative has been designed to establish enduring partnerships within the fashion industry that prioritize sustainable practices. Described as a unique blend of fellowship and accelerator, the program will bring together emerging designers and sustainability experts specializing in materials, manufacturing, and consumption.

The chosen teams will align their projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, concentrating on pivotal themes such as circularity, technological innovation, and human-centered design. Through this collaborative effort, participants will collaborate to conceptualize and execute sustainability-driven projects, products, or processes. Financial support in the form of grants and guidance from an advisory committee provided by One X One will be instrumental in bringing these ideas to fruition.

Anticipated to kick off towards the end of this year, the program’s collaborative efforts are expected to continue well into the spring and summer of 2020. The outcomes of these partnerships will be prominently featured at a major exposition scheduled for September 2020.

Robert Skinner, the executive director of the UN Office for Partnerships, expressed enthusiastic anticipation for this partnership, acknowledging its pivotal role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. This collaboration between Swarovski, the UN, and Study Hall signifies a growing convergence between the luxury market and environmental activism, particularly amidst escalating global concerns surrounding climate change.

In addition to the launch of “One X One,” Study Hall organizes annual summits and conferences focused on sustainable fashion. Backed by industry heavyweights such as Swarovski, G-Star Raw, Adidas, and Calik Denim, Study Hall is dedicated to promoting sustainability literacy across diverse sectors. A recent highlight was Study Hall’s participation in The Library Study Hall Sustainable Fashion Summit held at the UN, underscoring their commitment to fostering partnerships and knowledge-sharing in the realm of sustainability.
