Swarovski Forms Partnership with Climeworks to Reduce Carbon Emissions

Swarovski, the renowned Austrian luxury firm famous for its exquisite crystals and gemstones, has recently formed a partnership with Climeworks, a Swiss expert in the field of carbon dioxide removal. The objective of this five-year collaboration is to assist Swarovski in reducing its carbon emissions and contributing to the climate action targets laid out in the Paris Agreement. To achieve this, Swarovski intends to utilize Climeworks’ innovative air capture technology, which effectively eliminates its cumulative carbon dioxide emissions. By forming this alliance, Swarovski aims to align itself with its sustainability strategy and its commitment to reduce absolute emissions by an impressive 47% before 2030. While the exact financial details are yet to be disclosed, this partnership showcases Swarovski’s dedication to combatting environmental challenges.

Climeworks has previously partnered with major corporations including Microsoft, Shopify, and the renowned music group Coldplay. This Swiss company specializes in providing long-lasting solutions for the elimination of carbon dioxide emissions, either by safely storing it or returning it back to the Earth. Hence, the collaboration with Climeworks equips Swarovski with the necessary expertise to address the urgent issue of carbon emissions effectively.

In addition to their cooperation with Climeworks, Swarovski is also making significant investments in developing more efficient manufacturing operations and reducing energy consumption in their new stores. Furthermore, the company is actively seeking sustainable materials for their products, packaging, and architecture to further promote eco-friendly practices.
