Stylight’s Fashion Recap 2023

Stylight’s Fashion Recap 2023 report sheds light on the latest fashion trends that have taken the industry by storm. Pink, which reigned supreme thanks to the Barbie film, experienced a sudden decline in demand after reaching its peak in July. In its place, the color red, particularly dark red burgundy, has emerged as the new obsession. With a 21% increase in demand during the autumn season, it seems that the red color family will continue to dominate in 2024.

Moving on to footwear, cowboy boots were the go-to shoe in 2023 but have since seen a decline in popularity. Biker boots, on the other hand, have experienced a staggering 174% increase in demand, signaling a shift in preference. This rugged and edgy style is likely to replace the once-beloved cowboy boots in the coming year.

Loafers, which had their moment in 2023, are now starting to lose their hype as we enter 2024. Stepping into the spotlight are slingback kitten heels, a versatile shoe that has been spotted everywhere from runways to social media platforms like TikTok. With a 6% increase in demand, slingback kitten heels are projected to be a wise investment for fashion-forward individuals in 2024.

In the world of sneakers, chunky styles are making way for low-profile designs. Streamlined and understated looks are expected to dominate the sneaker scene in 2024. The Adidas Samba and Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 models have already gained significant popularity, experiencing a remarkable 142% increase in demand. More shoe models following this style are expected to make waves in the coming year.

As for clothing, the parachute/cargo pant revival that dominated 2023 is gradually losing its popularity. It’s being replaced by baggy jeans, which have seen a staggering 92% increase in clicks in October and November. Similarly, cargo skirts are being swapped for longer denim skirts, with a 142% increase in clicks.

Crop tops and sweaters were all the rage in 2023, with cropped sweaters reaching their peak in May. However, the off-the-shoulder sweater is gaining momentum and is predicted to be a major trend in 2024. Stylight has seen a 38% increase in demand for off-the-shoulder sweaters and expects to see this style on dresses and tops in the upcoming year.

The no-pants trend, popularized by influencers, may soon fade away in 2024. Instead, the sheer 2.0 trend is predicted to take center stage. Colored and transparent garments are gaining traction, with a 33% increase in demand for mesh clothing in recent months.

In conclusion, Stylight’s Fashion Recap 2023 report provides valuable insights into the ever-changing world of fashion. From the decline of pink and cowboy boots to the rise of red and biker boots, this report serves as a guide for staying stylish and on-trend in 2024.
