StockX Appoints Paul Foley as Head of Brand Protection

StockX, the popular online resale platform, has appointed Paul Foley as the head of brand protection. In this new role, Foley will be responsible for overseeing StockX’s efforts to protect the integrity of its marketplace and provide value to consumers. He will report directly to Sean McCartney, StockX’s chief supply chain officer.

The verification process has always been a crucial part of the StockX experience, and Foley’s extensive experience in brand protection and knowledge of supply chains and consumer protection will be incredibly valuable. McCartney expressed his confidence in Foley, stating that his skills and experience will make him a valuable asset to the StockX team.

Foley brings over thirty years of experience in brand protection, global operations, and supply chain management to his new position. Prior to joining StockX, he held the role of executive vice president of global sales and strategy at data intelligence firm Vi3. During his time there, he focused on developing data tracking solutions for supply chain and marketplace management. Foley has also held senior positions at renowned brands including Nike, Converse, and Reebok.

Foley expressed his admiration for StockX and its commitment to providing a seamless and trusted experience for customers. He emphasized his dedication to building StockX’s legacy by investing in new technology, establishing brand partnerships, and continuously evolving the verification process to meet customer expectations.

This appointment comes after StockX faced allegations from Nike in June, accusing the platform of selling counterfeit shoes. StockX firmly denied these allegations, stating that they are contradicted by the facts and Nike’s own business dealings with the company. Despite this controversy, StockX has continued to expand its offerings and recently introduced women’s luxury footwear as a new category on its site.

With the appointment of Paul Foley as head of brand protection, StockX aims to reinforce its commitment to providing a secure and authentic marketplace for buyers and sellers. Foley’s expertise and experience in brand protection and supply chain management will greatly contribute to the company’s ongoing success.
