Stockholm Fashion Week

The highly anticipated Stockholm Fashion Week is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 2, 2022, and is organized by the Swedish Fashion Association. This exciting event is expected to offer an array of shows, exhibitions, and performances that will captivate fashion enthusiasts.

A major highlight of this year’s fashion week is the collaboration with the Swedish School of Textiles. The school will present a captivating show featuring approximately 30 talented graduate students at Stadsgårdsterminalen, which will serve as the central hub for the week’s activities. This exciting presentation will provide a platform for emerging designers to showcase their fresh talent and creativity.

The anticipation continues to build as Louise Xin Couture prepares to unveil its latest collection with an exclusive runway show. This highly anticipated event will not only be showcased in Stockholm but will also be broadcast on screens in six European countries, allowing a wider audience to enjoy the spectacle. Following the runway show, the prestigious Nobis Hotel in Stockholm will be the venue for the annual Incentive to Action Award ceremony.

In addition to the dazzling fashion shows and prestigious awards, Stockholm Fashion Week aims to touch on important industry issues. One such discussion will be led by European Parliament member Raphaël Glucksmann, who has been a vocal advocate for the rights of the Uyghur community. The discussion will focus on working conditions in the textile industry, and valuable insights and testimony will be provided by Uyghur activist and author Jewher Ilham, industry expert Cay Bond, and actress Alicia Agneson.

Thursday will showcase the creative side of fashion week with a captivating fashion show by Styles and Sellpy. Attendees can look forward to an immersive experience that will highlight the latest trends and styles, truly bringing fashion to life.

The final day of Stockholm Fashion Week will feature a unique presentation by Placebo Digital Fashion House, demonstrating the exciting possibilities that virtual reality offers in the design process and the fashion industry as a whole. This innovative showcase is sure to leave a lasting impression on attendees.

To conclude the fashion week on a global note, five Ukrainian labels – Alona Cini, Leko, Limarenko, Pitaya, and Purpure Queen – will be given the spotlight in a special showcase. The Swedish Fashion Association aims to support these labels in light of the challenging circumstances they face in their home country.

With its dynamic lineup of shows, engaging discussions, and innovative presentations, Stockholm Fashion Week promises to captivate the fashion industry and enthusiasts alike. This event not only showcases the best of Swedish and international fashion but also addresses important issues within the industry.
