Stella McCartney and Lenovo Collaborate on Sustainable Fashion and Technology Project

Stella McCartney and tech brand Lenovo have come together to launch a collaborative project for MA Design students at Central Saint Martins. The eight-week live brief aims to explore the relationship between fashion and technology, with a focus on sustainability. McCartney, an alumna of Central Saint Martins and a pioneer in fashion sustainability, hopes to inspire and empower the next generation of designers in the realm of sustainable fashion.

A total of 38 students have been enrolled in the course, which challenges them to delve into the connection between fashion and technology and create innovative sustainable solutions. At the end of the project, McCartney will select one student to receive a coveted three-month internship at her company in their department of choice.

To support the students in their work, Lenovo has provided cutting-edge Yoga convertible PCs to each participant. This collaboration comes closely after Lenovo’s launch of their next-generation premium, ultra-slim Windows 11 Yoga laptops.

Simon Fraser, the Course Director of MA Design at Central Saint Martins, has expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He emphasizes that the course already focuses on the urgent challenge of sustainability and ethics in various fields, including ceramics, furniture, and jewelry. Working alongside McCartney and Lenovo, the students and staff are eager to put the principles and practices of the program to the test.

This collaboration between Stella McCartney and Lenovo brings together McCartney’s expertise in sustainable fashion and Lenovo’s innovative technology. The aim is to ignite creativity and drive meaningful progress in the intersection of fashion and technology. Both McCartney and Lenovo are committed to nurturing the talents of future designers and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved when fashion and technology converge in a sustainable and ethical manner.
