Stella McCartney and Adidas have joined forces to produce the world’s first 100% vegan football boot. The collaborative effort resulted in the creation of the limited-edition Paul Pogba x Adidas by Stella McCartney Predator Freak. This gender-neutral shoe combines Stella McCartney’s distinct design aesthetic and sustainable principles with Paul Pogba’s expressive style and high-performance demands as a football superstar.
The origin of this remarkable partnership can be traced back to a conversation between Pogba and McCartney during Adidas’s content series, The Huddle, which occurred in May 2020 amidst the lockdown. Their interaction not only uncovered their shared passions for fashion, sport, and brand-building but also laid the groundwork for this groundbreaking fusion of football and fashion.
The Predator Freak boots feature a white Primeknit upper embellished with leopard and Earth Protector graphics. Enhanced ball control and swerve are achieved through the use of Adidas Demonskin rubber spikes, meticulously calibrated using a computer algorithm. What sets these boots apart is the incorporation of signature Adidas Stella McCartney elements, including an opalescent finish and an ombré rainbow mirror metallic plate and heel logo. This is the first time such features have been integrated into a football boot.
Currently, the limited-edition boots can only be purchased through the Adidas app, where they are priced at €250 and €280. However, starting from November 1, the boots will also be available at select retailers.
