Spanish Fashion Company Scalpers Expanding Business Through Acquisitions and Retail Markets

Spanish fashion company Scalpers has set its sights on expanding its business through acquisitions or investments in other fashion companies. Additionally, the company plans to enter the retail markets in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands in 2023. While Scalpers has yet to finalize any transactions, it recognizes the profitability of certain companies in the apparel industry as an opportunity to diversify its portfolio. In 2021, the company reported a turnover of 110 million euros and aims to exceed 160 million euros in 2022.

To facilitate its retail expansion, Scalpers is making preparations to open four to five stores in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands next year. These countries are not new territories for the company, as it already generates close to 3 million euros in sales in Germany alone. Currently, Scalpers operates both online and physical stores in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Chile, and Turkey, with an online presence in 18 markets.

Although Scalpers experienced a positive performance in 2021 and achieved success across various business lines, the company briefly considered a potential sale earlier this year. However, due to the challenging global economic climate, this plan has been put on hold. Nevertheless, Scalpers remains an attractive option for investors due to factors such as the remarkable success of its women’s line. Since its launch in 2018, the women’s line has accounted for 60% of online sales and 35% of the company’s global turnover.
