SMCP Partners with Fairly Made for Product Traceability

French fashion group SMCP has partnered with start-up Fairly Made to provide customers with detailed and transparent information about the traceability of its products. SMCP, which includes popular brands such as Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac, aims to attach QR codes to all its products by 2025. These QR codes will allow customers to access information about the country of origin of each material used, the distance the product has traveled, the manufacturing location, and more. The initiative is part of SMCP’s One journey strategic plan, which prioritizes corporate social responsibility and ethical sourcing.

The collaboration with Fairly Made is significant as it responds to the growing consumer demand for transparency in supply chains and for brands to prioritize sustainability and ethical practices. By providing detailed information about its products’ origins and production processes, SMCP is meeting these demands and empowering customers to make informed choices. Moreover, SMCP plans to analyze the data collected through the QR codes to continuously improve its supply chain and reduce its environmental impact.

SMCP’s focus on sustainability goes beyond transparency and traceability. The company has set targets for reducing CO2 emissions, increasing the use of eco-friendly materials, minimizing air shipments, and implementing energy-efficient store concepts. These efforts align with global initiatives to make the fashion industry more sustainable and reduce its carbon footprint.

Collaborating with Fairly Made not only ensures transparency for SMCP’s brands and customers, but it also sets an example for other fashion companies to follow. By prioritizing supply chain transparency and responsible sourcing, SMCP is taking a significant step towards creating a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry.

With the launch of the pilot program this season, SMCP marks an important milestone in the fashion industry’s journey towards greater transparency and sustainability. This initiative showcases the brand’s commitment to meeting consumer demands and building a more ethical and environmentally conscious future. By integrating transparency and responsible practices into its operations, SMCP establishes itself as a leader in the accessible luxury market, reinforcing its position as a responsible and stylish choice for consumers.
