Skiwear: Fashion Brands Launch New Collections

Skiwear has become a major focus for fashion brands, as H&M Move and IKKS release their latest collections. H&M Move, a sub-brand of H&M specializing in activewear, has launched its new Snow Collection. This collection is designed to be versatile and high-performing, allowing a wider range of people to enjoy the snow. It offers affordable options without sacrificing functionality, making mountain protection accessible to everyone. The range includes technical apparel that combines performance with stylish design. The attention to detail and use of high-quality materials elevates H&M Move’s snow sports segment to new heights. The collection was developed in collaboration with outdoor agency Grand Studio after rigorous testing of H&M Move’s trademarked fabric innovations. These innovations include StormMove, which is windproof, waterproof, and breathable, ThermoMove, which retains heat, and DryMove, which is quick-drying and moisture-wicking. The collection includes both men’s and women’s lines, providing a comprehensive layering system. Key pieces in the collection include oversized jackets, baggy snow pants, fitted ski trousers, non-quilted puffer jackets, and modern one-pieces.

In addition to H&M Move, French fashion and lifestyle brand IKKS Paris has partnered with Duvillard, a French skiwear brand, to create a limited capsule collection for both men and women. This collection blends IKKS Paris’ rock-inspired aesthetic with Duvillard’s alpine style. For women, the collection offers a black down ski jacket with a faux fur collar and a “rock” message, black ski pants made from Schoeller fabric, a sleeveless down jacket in shiny ecru, and two Merino wool sweaters. The men’s collection features a two-tone black down jacket with a hood and a quilted inner jacket, ski pants in black with detachable suspenders, and a navy sweater in Merino wool. The collection will be available from both retailers starting on November 27th.

The fashion industry is placing a significant emphasis on skiwear, with various brands launching their own collections. Recently, Adidas by Stella McCartney and outdoor sports specialist Terrex unveiled a new line of high-performance sportswear that aims to redefine luxury fashion on the slopes. The importance of this range is highlighted by a high-profile campaign featuring Iris Law. Furthermore, Balenciaga has announced its entry into technical skiwear, with a launch planned for next week.

This growing focus on skiwear by fashion brands indicates the rising popularity of winter sports and the demand for functional yet stylish garments. With these new collections, more people can now enjoy the snow without compromising on their fashion choices. Whether it’s H&M Move’s affordable yet high-quality range or the collaboration between IKKS Paris and Duvillard that merges rock and alpine aesthetics, there are now more options than ever to hit the slopes in style.
