Sidney Toledano elected as Chairman of French Fashion Institute

Sidney Toledano, the CEO of LVMH’s fashion division, has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the board of directors of the prestigious French Fashion Institute (IFM). This appointment comes as no surprise, as Toledano has been involved with the IFM for many years, previously serving as its vice-president and director.

Toledano expresses his excitement and belief in the importance of education and knowledge transmission within the fashion industry. His extensive experience and connections in the fashion world make him the perfect candidate for this role, according to Xavier Romatet, the IFM director general, who describes Toledano’s appointment as a “great opportunity.”

Toledano’s impressive career in the fashion industry spans several decades. He started as a consultant at Nielsen and later worked at Kickers and Lancel before joining Dior in 1994. Toledano eventually rose to the position of CEO of Dior in 1998. In 2018, he took on the role of CEO of LVMH’s fashion division, where he oversees renowned brands such as Givenchy, Celine, Pucci, and Kenzo. Toledano’s contributions extend beyond his work at these prestigious fashion houses; he is also involved in various industry associations such as the Comité Colbert, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

In addition to Toledano’s appointment, Anne Dellière, the marketing and strategic planning director at the Richemont Group, will become the vice president of the IFM board of directors, filling the vacancy left by Toledano. This solidifies the IFM’s strategic leadership team with key industry professionals.

The IFM, located in Paris, is globally renowned for its excellence in fashion education. With Toledano at the helm, the institute has the opportunity to further establish itself as a top destination for aspiring fashion professionals from all over the world. His leadership and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the IFM’s mission of becoming a leading institution for fashion education and talent development.
