Sergio Rossi Announces Departure of Artistic Director and Appointment of New CEO

Italian luxury footwear brand Sergio Rossi has announced the departure of their artistic director, Evangelie Smyrniotaki. The decision to part ways was described as mutual, as Smyrniotaki’s contract came to an end.

During her tenure as artistic director, Smyrniotaki played a crucial role in shaping the brand’s global strategy and redefining its identity. She achieved this through her innovative advertising campaigns and content creation. Smyrniotaki also led the label’s design studio and successfully launched two capsule collections in collaboration with Sergio Rossi.

Sergio Rossi expressed gratitude towards Smyrniotaki, acknowledging her outstanding talent and recognizing her achievements in elevating the brand’s image while staying true to its DNA. The brand stated that it was a privilege to collaborate with such a talented artistic director, and that she will always be part of the Sergio Rossi family.

In November 2023, Helen Wright was appointed as the new CEO of Sergio Rossi, taking over from Paul Kotrba. Wright brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at renowned fashion brands such as Ralph Lauren, Fendi (owned by LVMH), and Karl Lagerfeld. Her main focus will be expanding Sergio Rossi’s presence in key markets, including North America, the UAE, Japan, and China.

With over 60 stores worldwide, Sergio Rossi continues to make strides in the luxury footwear industry. The brand is owned by the Chinese Lanvin Group, formerly known as Fosun, and reportedly generated €33 million in revenue in the first half of 2023.

As Sergio Rossi bids farewell to Evangelie Smyrniotaki and welcomes Helen Wright as the new CEO, the brand looks forward to the future with optimism, anticipating further growth and success.
