Selfridges Introduces Wedding Packages for Unconventional Celebrations

Luxury department store Selfridges has announced that it has been granted a temporary licence to host weddings, just in time for the return of unrestricted weddings in the UK. This comes as great news for couples who have had their wedding plans disrupted due to the pandemic. Selfridges, known for its unique approach and out-of-the-box thinking, has previously ventured into cinema and skateboarding experiences, and now it is bringing its creativity to the wedding industry.

With over 260,000 weddings being postponed in the UK due to the pandemic, there is likely to be a high demand for Selfridges’ wedding service. The company is offering three wedding packages for couples who want a non-traditional ceremony in an extraordinary venue. These packages are designed to cater to different preferences and styles.

The “Just-the-two-of-us” package is perfect for intimate ceremonies with a maximum of four guests. It includes beauty and grooming appointments, a simple ceremony, a wedding breakfast hamper, and a unique reception in the cinema with popcorn.

For couples who prioritize sustainability, the “Earth Lovers” package is the ideal choice. It can accommodate up to 20 guests and features an appointment to uncover vintage or rented wedding clothes. This aligns with Selfridges’ focus on rental services. The package also includes a locally-sourced three-course meal at the store’s Brasserie of Light restaurant.

Those looking for a more unconventional experience can opt for the “All-Out Extraordinary” package. This package allows for up to 20 guests and features comedian and drag queen Jonny Woo as the officiant. It includes a three-course meal in a private dining room and entertainment provided by in-house DJs.

In addition to these packages, Selfridges offers various appointments for makeovers, styling, and food and flower consultations. This level of customization and personalized services sets Selfridges apart and contributes to its overall sales strategy.

Selfridges’ venture into the wedding industry showcases its commitment to providing exceptional experiences and expanding beyond traditional retail. The company’s willingness to innovate and think creatively resonates with consumers and sets it apart from its competitors. With weddings gaining momentum post-pandemic, Selfridges is poised to become a sought-after destination for couples looking to create truly unforgettable celebrations.
