Scoop Makes Triumphant Return for SS24 Season

Scoop made a triumphant return to Olympia this week for the SS24 season, defying the tough times for independent retailers and challenges in the fashion industry. The show not only attracted a strong response from exhibitors but also from buyers. Organized by Hyve, Scoop maintained its unique identity by keeping the event separate from its sister show, Pure London. The theme of the show was Moroccan-inspired, which was evident in every aspect and created a vibrant and unique experience for attendees.

Buyers from influential retailers like Fenwick, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, and Galeries Lafayette, were present at the event. The presence of Galeries Lafayette highlighted the significance of UK shows, particularly Scoop, as key destinations for international buyers, despite the uncertainties of Brexit. Galeries Lafayette praised the curation of the show and identified Siamese Dreams, Agua Bendita, Scarlett Poppies, and Louise Misha as collections to watch.

The venue at Olympia West received positive feedback for its spaciousness and easy navigation. Smaller UK-based retailers, such as Jules Boutique and Wild Orchard, found the venue particularly favorable for discovering new brands and placing orders.

Scoop showcased a wide range of categories, including sleepwear, lingerie, swimwear, lifestyle products, and beauty. The inclusion of beauty brands aligned with the growing trend of fashion stores expanding into the beauty market. The Seated Queen, a skincare label, made its trade show debut at Scoop and received positive feedback for its minimalist aesthetic and affordable premium products.

Although beauty had a presence at the show, the focus was primarily on premium fashion and luxury brands. Michino Paris, a luxury bag brand, attracted attention with its high-quality materials and elegant designs. The founder, Yasu Michino, saw Scoop as an opportunity to showcase his work and test the market in London and the UK. Queens of Archive, known for its archive-inspired dresses, also made a strong impression at the event, with celebrity endorsements from Holly Willoughby and Lisa Snowden.

Yerse, a well-established Spanish brand, made its first appearance at Scoop, capitalizing on its success in the UK market. With a focus on knits, jerseys, and prints, Yerse emphasizes sustainability and is working towards B Corp certification. The brand’s collection for the season showcased nature-inspired prints and a muted color palette.

Another standout at the show was Traffic People, which not only gained attention for its clothing collections but also for dressing the show staff. The label’s strong print and dress story resonated well with the Scoop audience, resulting in new accounts and promising appointments for the showroom.

Overall, Scoop proved to be a successful event, with exhibitors and buyers expressing satisfaction. The strong presence of influential retailers and the positive response to the showcased brands indicate that Scoop remains a significant player in the fashion industry.
