Savile Row Exhibition Celebrates the Tailoring Heritage and Automotive Collaborations

Savile Row, renowned for its esteemed tailoring heritage, is gearing up to host a momentous event in the coming year. Currently underway is an exhibition that pays tribute to the longstanding partnership between Savile Row tailors and classic car manufacturers. The Pollen Estate, the main landlord on Savile Row, has teamed up with publishing house Hothouse Media to present this exhibition in anticipation of the upcoming Concours on Savile Row car event, slated for June 2022. The exhibition, located at The Service on 32 Savile Row, will be open to the public until December 15.

The exhibition delves into the close relationship between Savile Row tailors and the automotive industry. It showcases a wide range of collaborations, from tailored driving suits to meticulously crafted driving jackets and even bespoke car interiors. These collaborations between tailors and luxury car brands demonstrate a shared dedication to excellence. Both industries share common values such as craftsmanship, exquisite design, the use of premium materials, meticulous attention to detail, and a discerning clientele. Through various displays, the exhibition highlights the diverse disciplines involved in the creative process, including weaving, leatherwork, and woodwork.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to marvel at a curated selection of past collaborations between Savile Row tailors and automotive manufacturers. These partnerships have produced extraordinary creations, such as the Cad & the Dandy X Bahrain McLaren driving jacket, the Dege & Skinner X Bentley bespoke driving coat, Huntsman’s X Marc Newson driving suit worn during the Mille Miglia race, Henry Poole & Co’s contributions to Range Rover’s 50-year celebration, and the Norton & Sons X Lotus bespoke driving jacket exclusively available to customers of the Lotus Evija hypercar. Additionally, the exhibition showcases a collection of artworks from Historic Car Art, featuring the beauty of classic cars through various mediums like art, prints, posters, and photography.
