Salvatore Ferragamo Spring-Summer 2019 Collection

The latest spring-summer 2019 collection from Salvatore Ferragamo not only captured the essence of the idyllic Tuscan countryside but also exuded a sense of modern sophistication in the heart of Milan. The renowned Italian fashion house transformed the runway into a picturesque landscape, showcasing a harmonious blend of soft hues and luxurious leather that transported attendees to the rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves of Tuscany.

Creative director Paul Andrew and head of men’s ready-to-wear Guillame Meilland drew inspiration from the vibrant color palette of Tuscany, incorporating earthy tones of emerald, indigo, orange, red, and violet against a backdrop of taupe, caramel, biscuit beige, khaki, and olive green. The result was a visually captivating collection that catered to both men and women, seamlessly blending classic styles with modern sensibilities.

The show at Milan’s iconic stock exchange building featured a diverse cast of models, including British model Stella Tennant opening the runway in a stunning ensemble that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the collection. Designed to appeal to a younger market while maintaining its loyal customer base, Salvatore Ferragamo showcased its iconic leather craftsmanship through a range of garments and accessories, paying homage to the brand’s heritage.

Paul Andrew found inspiration in a vintage photograph of American actress Loretta Young wearing iconic Ferragamo shoes with sculptural heels from the 1940s. This led to the creation of a diverse range of footwear in the collection, from wooden clogs to woven leather boots, complemented by the introduction of the sophisticated ‘All Gancini Ferragamo Studio’ bag and microbags.

Overall, Salvatore Ferragamo seamlessly merged the rustic charm of the Tuscan countryside with the cosmopolitan allure of Milan in its spring-summer collection, embodying a sense of timeless elegance and modern sophistication.
