Saint Laurent Celebrates Halloween with Film Screening and Spooky Collection

Saint Laurent, the iconic French fashion house, is embracing the spirit of Halloween with a unique celebration that includes a film projection and a special collection of clothing and accessories. While the fashion house’s museum is currently exploring the relationship between gold and the creator, October brings a darker ambiance with the upcoming holiday. To mark Halloween on October 31st, Saint Laurent Rive Droite is organizing a special screening of two films curated by Gaspar Noé, screenwriter, producer, and director, along with Anthony Vaccarello, the artistic director of Saint Laurent. The screenings will take place at Panorama Max Linder in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and tickets can be purchased on the brand’s website.

The chosen films for the event are Rosemary’s Baby, directed by Roman Polanski in 1968, and Peeping Tom, directed by Michael Powell in 1960. With these classic horror movies, Saint Laurent aims to captivate discerning audiences who appreciate both the genre and the art of cinema.

In addition to the screening event, Saint Laurent will also be offering a series of vintage horror film VHS tapes for sale. This aligns well with the theme of the Halloween evening and taps into the current trend of embracing retro objects. Alongside this collection, the brand has already released a selection of limited-edition products that include skeleton-patterned hoodies, skull candles, spider keychains, and pumpkin figurines. These items are available for purchase online and at the Rive Droite boutiques in Paris and Los Angeles, allowing customers to dress up and decorate in a luxurious yet spine-chilling fashion.

Banking on the commercial opportunities that Halloween presents, Saint Laurent has experienced a 40% growth in the third quarter of 2022. After two years of limited celebrations due to the pandemic, Halloween is anticipated to make a strong comeback, especially in the United States where it is widely celebrated. According to a survey by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics, total Halloween spending in the US is projected to reach a record-breaking $10.6 billion this year, with $3.6 billion allocated to costumes and $3.4 billion to decorations. This growing popularity has also influenced the festive habits of the French, particularly among the younger generation.

To fully immerse yourself in the Halloween spirit with Saint Laurent, be sure to attend the film screening and explore the hauntingly stylish collection. It’s an opportunity to celebrate this beloved holiday while indulging in the world of fashion and cinema.
