Safilo Group Appoints Michele Melotti as New CFO

Italian eyewear company Safilo Group has announced the appointment of Michele Melotti as its new group chief financial officer. Melotti, who has been with Safilo since 2012, will begin his new role on August 28 and will be responsible for preparing the company’s financial documents.

Before joining Safilo, Melotti started his professional career at KPMG Advisory. Over the past 11 years, he has taken on various roles within the finance and accounting function, including senior director of finance and accounting for Western Europe and global accounts, and senior director of group controlling. Melotti holds a degree in business economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, as well as a master’s degree in general management from the University of Bologna.

The previous CFO, Gerd Graehsler, resigned from the company to pursue another career opportunity. This news follows the recent renewal of Safilo’s eyewear licensing agreement with Tommy Hilfiger, extending their partnership until 2030. Safilo Group is a global designer and manufacturer of prescription frames, sunglasses, outdoor eyewear, goggles, and helmets. It owns several eyewear brands, including Carrera, Polaroid, Smith, Blenders, Privé Revaux, and Seventh Street. Additionally, the company holds licenses for various renowned fashion brands.

Safilo’s appointment of a new CFO reflects its commitment to financial transparency and management. With Melotti’s extensive experience and expertise in finance and accounting, the company is well-positioned to continue its growth and success in the eyewear industry.
