Safilo Group and Hugo Boss Extend Licensing Agreement until 2030

Italian eyewear manufacturer Safilo and German fashion house Hugo Boss have recently announced the extension of their licensing agreement until 2030. This renewed partnership will focus on the production and distribution of eyeglasses and sunglasses for the luxury brands Boss and Hugo over the next seven years.

Angelo Trocchia, CEO of Safilo Group, expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of their partnership with Hugo Boss, highlighting the brand’s significant value as an asset in Safilo’s portfolio. Trocchia commended Safilo for successfully incorporating Boss and Hugo’s rebranding efforts into their eyewear collections, which has led to a promising future for the brands in various markets and distribution channels.

Safilo Group has achieved remarkable success, generating net revenues of 1.08 billion euros in 2022. The company’s extensive portfolio includes popular brands such as Carrera, Polaroid, Smith, Blenders, Privé Revaux, and Seventh Street, in addition to licenses for notable fashion brands like Banana Republic, Carolina Herrera, Dsquared2, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss AG, emphasized the vital role Safilo plays in driving growth in the eyewear segment. He recognized Safilo as an industry leader with exceptional quality standards and a robust global distribution network. Grieder expressed his excitement to continue the successful and long-standing partnership with Safilo, emphasizing their ability to fully capitalize on the potential of Boss and Hugo in the global eyewear market.

Hugo Boss has been performing exceptionally well, surpassing analysts’ expectations with a 15% increase in revenue at constant exchange rates in the third quarter, according to their most recent trading update in November.

Overall, the extended licensing deal between Safilo and Hugo Boss sets the stage for continued success and growth in the luxury eyewear market. With their established partnership and combined expertise, both companies are well-positioned to meet the global demand for high-quality eyewear from these renowned brands.
