Roberto Cavalli Launches Wild Leda Collection at Selfridges

Roberto Cavalli, the renowned fashion brand, has recently launched its highly anticipated summer collection at Selfridges in London, marking the beginning of a global tour. The collection, named Wild Leda, was unveiled at a lavish event where attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner and evening of entertainment. The focal point of the collection is the label’s opulent and sensual Spring/Summer 2023 print, which takes inspiration from the iconic Leda and the Swan archival pattern originally designed by Roberto Cavalli in 1994. This captivating print serves as the centerpiece of a delightful capsule collection that will be commemorated with a series of events and activations.

Fausto Puglisi, the Creative Director of Roberto Cavalli, played a key role in bringing this collection to life. He paid homage to the brand’s artistic heritage by reimagining the print with a bold and feminine twist. The Wild Leda collection offers a diverse range of products, including ready-to-wear clothing, beachwear, accessories such as the Roar Bag and Pettegole slingback shoes, as well as homewares and furniture pieces.

Selfridges, an esteemed luxury department store in London, will host a four-week pop-up for the Wild Leda collection on its second floor, starting from June 1st. To make a lasting impression, the store’s main windows facing Oxford Street will be adorned with an enchanting and surreal installation showcasing the captivating Wild Leda capsule. The inspiration from this installation will also extend to the decoration of one of the store’s restaurants, the Brasserie of Light, where the mythological theme of Wild Leda will harmonize with Damien Hirst’s Pegasus.

The collaboration between fashion brands and store restaurants has gained popularity in recent times, as seen with the opening of the Prada Caffè inside Harrods and Alice + Olivia taking over the Terrace at Harvey Nichols. In the case of Roberto Cavalli and Selfridges, their collaboration goes beyond the pop-up shop. Throughout the collection’s duration, the Brasserie of Light will display customized Roberto Cavalli Home tableware, cushions, and candles, along with a special menu designed in collaboration with the Italian brand.
